In 1780 Francis Falkner established a whiskey company in Grafton Street in Dublin to produce and sell Falkner’s Irish Whiskey. In 1854 Falkners opened three shops in Grafton Street which sold groceries, tea and wine and spirits. By 1884 the business had expanded and the company moved to larger premises at 83 Grafton Street. A shop was also opened at 2 Charing Cross Road, London WC2. In 1936 Falkners was acquired by John Morgan & Sons Ltd.
